Henna is a paste made from the crushed leaves and twigs of the henna plant, which is grown in South Asian and North African countries. When henna is applied to the skin, it leaves an stain ranging in color from orange to dark maroon that fades within 1 to 2 weeks. This guide will teach you to safely use henna for skin to create beautiful and sensual body art.

For thousands of years man has wanted to paint his body. Before even primitive clothing came about mans means of being part of a tribe or to be dramatically different would be to stain the body with plant dyes.

The results were fantastic and henna alongside other dyes like indigo was a temporary yet extremely satisfying way of creating a deep colour on the skin.

Henna Designs Henna (from the plant lawsonia inermia) is known as many names and is predominantly found in North Africa, Eygpt, India and parts of the Middle East. It is best known for its dried, ground leaves that produce a colourfast dye in shades varying from pale brown through to dark russet reds. It can be used to dye hair, skin, clothes and even finger nails, and has long been used as a treatment for sunburn, for its astringent qualities and also as a sedative.

The art of Henna has been practised for thousands of years in the countries mentioned above but in the last 5 years there has been a surge of interest from Western countries. It is now widely accepted as an art in self expression and individuality.

There is evidence of tattooing dating right back over 5000 years and the Egyptians were the culture that totally embraced it. They were probably the vainest of cultures when it came to beauty and personal hygiene. Henna was used in many ways to stain hands, hair and nails.

Henna is a life giving and therapeutic experience for anyone who wants to get in touch with their inner self. It has a history of spirituality and is linked with marriage, birth and death, and is probably the oldest art form known to man.

There is something deeply satisfying for an Indian Bride to have her hands and feet painted on the day before her wedding with beautiful intricate Menhdi designs. She is revered by the wedding party and henna is used as a means of idolising her. She is not allowed to do any work before or after her wedding until all the stain has disappeared.

A Henna Sun Using henna for many women in poor countries was an inexpensive way of adorning herself and becoming exotic, to set herself apart from others. To paint ones friends was also very popular and the ritual that went with it drew you closer to them.

In the Middle East it is said that Arabs will not present their hand for henna if they are not speaking the truth and it is generally brides who are painted. Henna is known as a symbol of good luck in countries such as Turkey, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

In Morrocco there are unique designs used for many different things. Pregnant women have designs painted on their ankles to protect them throughout childbirth and designs are passed down within the families, secret styles being kept in families for generations.

African designs have a geometry to them that is quite distinct and are less intricate than the very ornate and floral Indian or mehndi designs.

Rihanna's Hand Tattoo For Girls For Women Tumble Words Quotes For Men Design Designs Writing

Rihanna's Hand Tattoo Biography

Source:- Google.com.pk

Rihanna’s tattoos on her fingers are some of the most unique and intelligent of all her tats. Although finger tattoos have recently taken the world by storm, from finger mustaches to inked-on wedding bands, superstar Rihanna was probably one of the first to join the ranks of the finger-tattooed. Rihanna currently has two finger tattoos, one located on the middle finger of her left hand, and the other on the index finger of her right hand. Both of Rihanna’s finger tats were inked in 2008, and have the same lighthearted, flirty style as some of her other tattoos. Although Rihanna loves tattoos and has two finger tats herself, she warns that finger tattoos are extremely painful and doesn’t recommend getting one!

Many celebrities have inked their hands with all kinds of interesting tattoos. Khloe Kardashian, for example, has her husband’s initials tattooed on her right hand, and her husband has hers inked on his same hand. However, pop star Rihanna’s hand tattoo is one of the most unique hand tattoos out there. The intricate tribal dragon claw tattooed on the singer’s hand is distinctive because it wasn’t just inked in the normal tattoo fashion with needles and ink. Her hand tattoo is a traditional tat done in the style of the Maori people of New Zealand. The Maori people use chisels to imprint inked grooves in the skin, which causes the skin to be raised and rough instead of smooth like most tattoos. There are a lot of tribal tattoos out there, most of which should have been reconsidered, but RiRi’s hand tattoo is definitely one of a kind.

In case you were wondering what two words Rihanna would use to describe herself, wonder no longer! Rihanna got a new tattoo that reads “Thug Life” in capital letters across her knuckles, and she certainly seems serious about her tribute to the late Tupac Shakur. Pictures of RiRi’s new tattoo cropped up on the internet in addition to a tweet saying “All these bitches screaming that 2pac back #THUGLIFE” – lyrics to Rick Ross’ song “Tupac Back.” Rihanna’s new tattoo was reportedly inked today, January 25, 2012, by popular tattoo artist Mark Mahoney, who also posed for some post-tat pics with the Barbadian beauty. The tat was inked at Mahoney’s Shamrock Shack tattoo parlor in L.A. Rihanna loves tattoos and her new thug life tat adds to an already impressive collection of ink the superstar has. But just to make this new tattoo especially unique, Rihanna got the tat inked in white!

Rihanna’s Thug Life Tattoo Meaning

The obvious meaning of Rihanna’s knuckles tattoo is a tribute to Tupac, who formed the rap group Thug Life in 1993. The well-known rapper also had the words “thug life” inked across his stomach before he was killed in a drive-by shooting in 1996. According to one source, the term “thug life” represents the opposite of an individual having everything he or she needs to succeed. Thug life is when you have nothing and you still succeed, having overcome all the obstacles to achieve your goals. The eldest child of a Barbadian father and a Guyanese mother, Rihanna – born Robyn Rihanna Fenty – has confessed to watching her father struggle with a crack addition as a young child. Rihanna has also recounted instances when, as a child, she was beaten by her drunken father. Being the international superstar that she is today, it certainly seems like Rihanna has risen up in the face of adversity and lived up to the meaning of a “thug life.”Rihanna Thug Life Tattoo

Pictures of Rihanna’s New Knuckle Tattoos

There is quite a buzz about RiRi’s new tattoo, not only because of the tattoo meaning, but because the star may have actually gotten another tattoo during the “thug life” session. Rihanna posted additional pictures of her laying down on her stomach while Mahoney seemingly worked on a new tattoo on her lower back. Pictures of Rihanna’s tattoo sesh show the superstar lounging while drinking a beer, seemingly unconcerned about adding what would be her 16th tattoo to her body. RiRi also posted on Twitter, “My boo Mark Mahoney! #RockstarS*** #TATnight.” If the singer’s back tattoo is real, it would accompany the string of stars tattoo that Rihanna has inked on her neck and back, as well as more than a dozen other tattoos the singer has on her body. Unfortunately, Rihanna hasn’t yet posted pictures of the back tattoo, so we are waiting on the edge of our seats!

Small Hand Tattoos For Women Biography

Tattoo talks. Rather than meaning something literal and universal, the art on our bodies is often personal and complicated. A magnificent panorama of an underwater world is unlikely to simply declare the bearer's love of trout. However, some designs still shout a very particular meaning – to jaundiced eyes, at least.

1 Teardrop

True to stereotype, the teardrop appeared in the dock this week. During the trial of Kiaran Stapleton, accused of murdering Indian student Anuj Bidve in Manchester, the prosecution alleged that tattoo parlour staff remembered Stapleton's visit two days after the murder because they reminded the 21-year-old that a teardrop below the eye could mean the wearer had killed someone. Teardrops can be associated with death and prison. In gangland, an unfilled teardrop may signify the death of a friend, with the person shading it in when they have avenged their loss. Teardrops may also mean mourning – Amy Winehouse's teardrop was said to symbolise her former husband Blake Fielder-Civil's stint in prison.

2 Anchor

By the late 1800s, 90% of those serving in the British navy were tattooed and sailing iconography is still influential – particularly with the trend for retro "romantic" tattoos. "Tattoos display an individual's membership to a particular group in society," writes sociologist Tony Lawrence. Practically, tattoos could help identify drowned sailors. Their meanings, however, depend on the era and even the specific ship. An anchor could mean crossing the equator, the soul of a dead sailor or symbolise hope – we may no longer take perilous journeys on high seas but still seek to "anchor" our self. According to Dr Matt Lodder, art historian at Reading University, rather than having a particular meaning, the anchor has also become an icon of tattooing – like the broken heart and the swallow.

3 Swallow

Swallows never fly far into the ocean and so their sighting was a sign that land was near – a symbol of hope and achievement for sailors. Endless variations followed: two swallows indicated a journey of 10,000 nautical miles while a swallow with a dagger through its heart was a memorial for a friend lost at sea. A bird on a hand or neck can also say "jailbird". A friend with swallows flying across his arm lives a respectable life and yet is still routinely asked whether he has "done bird".

4 Dolphin

Before the explosion of 21st-century inking, tattoos were "mainly associated with those belonging to a lower social class – criminals, sailors, whores, soldiers, adventurers, perverts and the like – and at the other end of the scale with the eccentrics of high society, the rich and aristocratic," wrote Schiffmacher and Riemschneider in 1000 Tattoos. Hence our fascination with Samantha Cameron's tat. Dolphins may mean prosperity but also represent duality – a creature of the water, and a breather of air. They suggest we are in two worlds at once – perfectly encapsulating Sam Cam's commute between 10 Downing Street and her pad in the Cotswolds.

5 Cat

Danzig Baldayev, a St Petersburg prison guard, spent three decades documenting the body art of inmates. His life's work, the three-volume Russian Criminal Tattoo Encyclopaedia, is captivating. We learn that cats can symbolise a thief's pedigree. A single cat says they acted alone; several cats together indicate a gang.

6 Hidden codes

Canada's Border Services Agency has a guide to tattoos that provides amusing evidence of how the authorities may stereotype tattooed gentlemen. AFFA ("Angel Forever, Forever Angel") on the knuckles screams Hell's Angel. A noose is favoured by KKK fans. VL stands for "vida loca" – my crazy life. Then again, never assume the worst: one man claimed "hate" on his knuckles stood for happiness all through eternity.

7 Clown face

According to the Canadian authorities, clown faces can mean "Laugh now, cry later" and "play now, pay later", which probably sums up the poor gang members' emotions when caught in customs with an enormous bag of drugs and guns.

8 Spider's web

When placed on elbows or shoulders, the spider's web traditionally denoted being caught in prison. Other prison motifs include clock faces without hands, tombstones with numbers and a prison wall with bricks falling outward. What on earth could that mean?

9 Butterfly

Psyche is Greek for both butterfly and soul, and butterflies are symbols of the soul in many cultures. Through the wonder of metamorphosis, a wriggling worm becomes a winged angel and so butterflies most often denote transformation or change. A butterfly tat need not be girly: a friend knows a tough boxer who sports a tattoo of one of Britain's daintiest butterflies – the small copper.

Celebrity Hand Tattoos Biography

Source:- Google.com.pk

I know it’s not nice to be mean about other people’s tattoos. Having spent years working in a tattoo shop I learnt to be tolerant and accepting of the diversity of the tattoo art form and the myriad ways and reasons people choose to adorn their bodies.

But what the fuck is up with celebrity tattoos?

These people are paid millions to look perfect. They have stylists. They have money. They spend more on fashion than many people would spend on a house.

Why do they all get such bogan-looking jail tattoos?

Maybe they just don’t care. With today’s film technology it can all be brushed out or make-uped over so, whatever.

Pretty much every celebrity tattoo I have ever seen is completely mental, but the celebrity who tops my list is Angelina Jolie. Every time I see her latest tattoo my brain explodes. Maybe it’s her reaction against being ‘the worlds most beautiful woman’. She just goes, ‘Hmm, next I’m going to visually represent my adoptive infant children by  scratching lattitudes and longitudes into my bicep with a broken crack pipe’.

And what is up with ‘know your rights’? As if when you look at the back of Jolie’s neck in a really expensive couture gown you want some downer of a political statement staring back at you in patchy grey ink. How much of a turn-off is that?

Number two on my list is Christina Ricci, who I just noticed has a pair of praying hands poking out the top of her bikini that look suspiciously like someone drew a cock on her stomach. To be fair it is a blurry photo, but for most girls, if there was even the slightest possibility that their new tattoo looked like a cock drawn on their stomach they’d probably steer well clear.

Speaking of cocks, this leads me to number three – ‘My body is a wonderland’ aka John Mayer. In the words of a tattooer I know, ‘when people can’t draw a carp very well, it’s really easy for it to look like a cock.’ Unfortunately for Mayer, what he has on his upper arm is a classic cock-carp. The fact that he went and filled out his whole other arm with a sleeve of cock-carps and what look like cabbages is further testament to the fact that celebrities don’t have a clue when it comes to tattoos.

Where are they getting them from? Is there one real dodgy tattooist in Hollywood who just messes up everybody? I imagine he has a real pimping mansion and does house calls. Like that dodgy plastic surgeon Daniel Serrano who held ‘botox parties’ for A-list celebrities and is being accused of destroying their faces with injections of low-grade industrial silicone.

Number four is Nicole Ritchie. The only reason this anorexic bitch is in my top ten is the number of girls who came into the tattoo shop wanting to copy her stupid tiny back-wings. If there’s one tattoo that’s just totally stupid it’s back-wings. If anyone’s reading this getting pissed off because I’ve insulted their back-wings all I can say is  - WHAT ARE THEY FOR? YOU CAN’T FLY!!

Two Hands Tattoo Biography

Source:- Google.com.pk

This page on hand meaning symbolism is brought about by several curious images received during meditation and dreams. And, like much of the content on this site, this post comes from thinking more deeply about potential hand meaning with the goal of providing interesting insight and perspectives to you too.

First and most obvious, we've got two of them and this lead me to the concept of number two in numerological symbolism.

That two (dual) symbolism and hand symbolism in general include attributes such as...

Symbolism of Two Hands

Balance
Choice
Contrast
Justice (think of a scale)
In Asian cultures the left hand is symbolic of yin energy and the right yang energy. Hands folded together or clasped in Asian illustrations is iconic of allegiance and friendship. Hidden hands depicted in art indicates humility and offering respect where it is due.

Here are a few common left-hand, right-hand symbolic attributions:

Right-Hand and Left-Hand Symbolism

Left Hand Right Hand
Passive Assertive
Justice Mercy
Lunar Solar
Emotion Logic
Receiving Giving
Unconscious Conscious
These brief and traditional attributions for hands can prove meaningful in our daily practices. Being mindful of which hand is used (depending on the intent I wish to convey) has manifested some fascinating results. For example, when consoling a friend last week, I purposefully placed my left hand on her shoulder with the intent to transmit an energy of passivity. I wanted to convey nothing more than my presence to her, and my willingness to be an outlet for her emotion. No action - just being there.

Likewise, I mindfully give with my right hand, while receive with my left. This simple act (or, more accurately, being aware of this act) has reaped some amazing results.

In the Celtic language of symbolism there are references indicating hand meaning in connection to power, rulership, and authority. I infer this from the experience of King Nuada who was dethroned from ruling his kingdom because he lost his right hand in battle.

It was a big deal. Without the hand, a king could be considered incongruent and unbalanced as kings were also judges. Good and balanced judgment was symbolically portrayed by the two hands. Later however, we learn King Nuada regained his command after one of his daughters gave him a silver hand which was animated by the help of Miach, a sage and healer.

Also in the ancient Celtic way of thinking (and countless others), the hand was symbolic of spiritual power. Further, hands were thought to harbor energetic power as we see invocations by Celtic gods and goddesses as well as Druids.

In the Native American way of symbolic communication, hands dominated in expression where the Plains Indians showcased their most eloquent speech via use of hand gestures.

In Buddhism as well as Hinduism hand positions known as mudras were keenly important in expressing transference of divine powers. Hands shown in various positions held symbolism of inherent energy such as meditation, receptivity, unity, wisdom, etc.

The hand has long been thought as a conduit of power - transforming unseen energy into the world of form. Indeed, the Latin word for manifestation is formed around the world manus which is the Latin word for hand.

Consider these little bits about hand meaning as you go about your days, and travel on your Path. Furthermore, I invite you to be mindful of your hands, and how you use them to express yourself and your intent. Here are some ways to have fun while becoming more aware of the effectiveness and power hands can generate...
